Production Process of POF Shrinkage Film
POF shrink film is a substitute for traditional shrink film, mainly used for packaging products with regular and irregular shapes. POF film is made from special linear low density polyethylene and copolymer polypropylene (Co-PP)with some functional additives, and is processed through co-extrusion double bubble film forming process, which is also known as the Prandi process internationally(Prandi invented double bubble process in 1970’s). It involves melting and extruding raw materials through different extruders, and then pump to a specially designed co-extrusion die to form primary water quenched bubble. The bubble is then go through processes of heating, blow orientation in both MD and TD direction to form the second bubble with specified thickness per customer requirement.
Per above introduction,we know POF shrink film is made by bi-orientation process. Orientation greatly enhance the molecular alignment of polymer in desired direction and thus significantly improve the film toughness and optical properties,it also enables the heat shrinkage property of the film.
