What is a POF shrink film?
POF shrink film(Polyolefin orientation film), also known as BOPE shrink film, is a shrink film formed by biaxially stretching polyolefin through double bubble process. Compared with traditional polyethylene blown shrinkage film, POF shrinkage film has excellent transparency and gloss, superior mechanical properties, high and balanced longitudinal and transverse shrinkage rates. Generally speaking, POF shrink films are divided into two categories: normal POF and cross-linked POF.
Normal POF shrink film is currently the mainstream product in the Chinese market. Most of them are three-layer coextrusion structure, with two surface layers based polypropylene and a linear low-density polyethylene in core layer. Compared with traditional PE and PVC shrink films, POF film is tougher, has better puncture resistance, and low temperature performance. So,POF film not only provide better packaging performance but also been very thin with thickness less than half of traditional shrinkage films. Therefore, POF film has replaced most of traditional PE shrink film and PVC shrink film in the market.
Cross-linked POF film is a further upgraded product of normal POF film. It isn’t PP/PE/PP coextrusion structure like ordinary POF,cross-linking film is product by specialized PE resins with controlled cross-linking level。 Physical properties and heat sealing strength of cross linking film are greatly improved compared to ordinary POF film. On top of that, cross linking film has more broad shrinkage window and is more adaptable to packaging machines. So,crosslink POF film performs much lower packaging failures in either packaging or transportation processes. It is more suitable to package heavy weight products.
